I am board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospital Medicine. I have been practicing for 25 years and have nearly 2 decades of critical care/ICU experience. I was the director of the hospitals stroke program and I owned the hospitalist service (A group of physicians who ran all of the ICU care for 100,000 patients in northern California) I have ran multiple Internal Medicine and pre-op clinics over the past 25 years.
At My Team MD you will never meet a PA or a nurse, only a board certified MD. 12 years of college and decades of ICU experience makes a difference. I graduated from medical school with honors. I consistently rank in the top 1% of physicians in two of the largest health care providers in the country. I perform 1 hour consults on your case and will always find areas to improve your care. My national patient satisfaction rates hover around 95%.
I will always offer the latest, evidence based therapy for your conditions. Whether that is medication management or surgical procedures, I will guide you through the most up to date treatment options. I will also point out sham therapy if I discover it in your healthcare. I take patient care seriously and keeping you safe and healthy is the reason I am your physician.
Whenever possible I will try to offer non medication based therapy. For example an exercise and nutritional counselling approach to better diabetic control instead of more medications. Simple, less side affects and an improved lifestyle approach. I closely monitor your progress and if things don't improve we move to more intensive therapy. I always strive to start at the least invasive and increase therapy as your medical issue demands it.
We bill a yearly fee that will be prorated if you decide to leave. If you are not satisfied we assist you in finding another physician. You need to have a good relationship with your doctor and if you don't I will help your transition to another provider. My turnover is less than 5% so I am pretty sure you will be happy with your care.
Call the office for a free initial meeting. These 20 minute appointments are designed to meet me and see if my style of medical care is a good fit for you. No obligations. The practice is limited to 400 patients so that I will always have time to take care of you. When we reach capacity we will start a wait list
How many times have you come to visit your physician and they spend more time staring at the computer than talking to you? This is communication 101. I do have computers in the exam rooms, but I doubt you will EVER see me on them. I review your case carefully before your visit and take notes. When I meet you I am already up to date on your issues/meds/recent labs and hospitalizations. Preparation beforehand sets the stage for a smooth interview where you and I can talk back and forth. My goal has always been that the patient is fully informed and questions answered by the time you leave.
Concierge medicine or direct primary care is basically healthcare as it used to be. This is not healthcare just for millionaires; the majority of my patients are middle class hard working folks. The practice is limited to 400 patients so we always have space to see you. I have the ability to spend more time on your care because I am not being crushed by managing 3000 patients. You have direct access to me through improved office hours and cell phone/email access. A normal appointment is a 30 minute slot, yearly exams are an hour. I can also streamline your care by being a "jack of all trades." I will perform 95% of your care in the office; dermatology, cardiology, pulmonology, gynecology to name a few. I also go beyond standard care with yearly cancer scanning using non-radiation based ultrasound. Get sick on vacation? Facetime me and I can call in medications as needed anywhere in the country. Its refreshing to perform this intimate level of care for my patients, call for a free appointment to see if this is a good fit for you. You still need to keep your current health insurance and I just supplement what they don't provide. We don't bill insurance for our services but can always provide a superbill to help you with tax deductions. Payments for this practice can be made through your HSA and are always tax deductible.
Imagine you are a mechanic and just fixed a clients car. It took 4 hours and had multiple complications but your experience and training paid off and the customer drove away happy. You don't receive payment for over a month, then you receive a letter from the insurance stating they are going to only pay for $15 of your $400 bill. You can contest it over the phone, and this usually takes about 30-60 minutes of being on hold and NEVER results in them paying. This is exactly how the insurance system works. I pour my heart and soul into my patients and to be told I wont be paid is beyond belief. My new practice eliminates the insurance oversight. I dont have to worry about paying the rent or having to justify a therapy to some kid from the insurance company. Now if the insurance gives us a problem I have the time to turn into full tilt attack dog and help you fight for the care you need. Instead of worrying about insurance I get to only worry about you!
