Cardiac health is a very difficult issue to guide you through. It depends on age, your prior history, relevant testing and lab status After 2 decades of passing catheters into patients hearts I have the skillset to guide you through this process. After a comprehensive history and physical review I can perform the needed stress and imaging studies in the office. If you need advanced care I will walk you through the essential testing and consultations. Most of my patients do not need to see the cardiologist after I take over their care, I leave that decision up to you and support you either way. As your concierge Doctor in St. George I will make this my priority.
As the prior regional director of our hospitals stroke program I have the skills to walk you through stroke risk. Vascular and cardiac assessment in the office, labs and risk modifying plans are the start. I perform all the assessments in the office and walk you through the results. Stroke prevention is the main drive initially but after a stroke specific medications, testing and therapy needs to be monitored. I will rapidly figure out what is needed and get you on the correct program for your specific needs. With my extensive neurology training in general we can avoid the additional consultation with a neurologist. As your concierge Doctor I can offer this service in St. George because I have the time to focus only on you, not 3500 patients like the insurance office model.
Labs only gives a partial picture of your overall health. I use ultrasound in the office to annually review your major organs for changes or even cancer. Abdominal aneurysm screen, cardiac echocardiogram, carotid artery blood flow and overall picture of the internal organs. Less invasive, no radiation and a goal of finding things early so they are easier to take care of. Ultrasound in untrained hands is pretty useless, I have 20 years of hands on experience and training. This process does not always replace a CAT scan but it also does not carry the 250 chest xrays of radiation that a CAT scan can deliver to you. If more imaging is needed we will discuss the best options for you. This is part of my standard yearly workup and if you had to pay for it the price would be around $5000. All of my concierge members get this for free on a yearly basis. As your Doctor in St. George this will be another step in our journey to complete, outstanding healthcare.
On a yearly basis we will meet for an hour and review all of your cancer screening. Skin cancer screening head to toe every year because 60% of adults have it now. If I find a lesion I can remove 99% of them right here in the office. I teach the breast exam (checkontheGIRLS.org) using a technique I developed to improve home breast cancer detection. Prostate or cervical cancer screening. Review of colonoscopy status and recommendations. Full lab review ruling out anemia's, bone marrow disorders, renal and liver health and vitamin levels. Vascular testing in the office to evaluate stroke risk and stress testing if needed. Bone density monitoring and immunization management. Lastly review all of your personal medical conditions and discuss any outside testing that may be needed. This process is usually divided up into 3 visits a year but some patients opt for our Executive Wellness program where its all done in a day. If you still have doubts read the "changing lives..." blog page.
This will be done yearly and as needed. I have electronic access to most of your labs and xrays in the southwest so I can compare them for changes to accurately guide you through your issues. One thing I wont do is order labs and tests "just because." Most of the time labs and xrays are taken for no sound medical reason. Its not uncommon for the majority of my patients to only need one blood draw per year, I will guide you through the evidence for your specific issues.
Many diseases have specific testing that needs to be run on a certain cycle. For example liver patients need a yearly ultrasound to rule out the beginnings of cancer. Whether its diabetes or cardiomyopathy I will manage this and keep you current on all needed studies.
For exceptionally busy clients executive medicine may be a good fit. A half day visit that covers everything you need.
...Labs on arrival, results in a few hours
...Full physical exam
...Stress testing evaluation
...Vascular assessment via bedside ultrasound
...Cancer screening all major organs
...Echocardiogram, EKG
...Personalized program depending on all the above findings.
Plan 4 hours. Free shuttle service to and from the airport (METAR discussion at no charge, give me a call) Follow up throughout the year can in some cases be as simple as a facetime visit, I will detail the options and we will come up with the most reasonable follow up plan. Yearly fee of $3000 covers the evaluation and full office/facetime access for a year.
Longevity is a complicated mix of issues that really requires a holistic view. True longevity evaluation is an analysis of patient lifestyle, current labs/testing and future goal management. This path is defined in modifying your current habits, monitoring progression and possibly adding medications. I work with well established paths but also have patients in clinical trails on longevity medications. None of this is "off the cuff", I will always work from an evidence based slant. This is exceptionally specialized and each patient will have different requirements.
